IF YOU MAKE A TRACK PLEASE MAIL IT TO
IF FOR WHATEVER REASON THAT E-MAIL ACCOUNT DOES NOT WORK THEN USE THIS ONE HERE
OK COOL THANK YOU ...
ROCK OUT IT'S GOTH NIGHT IN TORONTO
but what the fuck ever you can make anything you want with the raps. Just go to the raps.samples.voices section of this website and you can download folders of raps with the wav files as well as mp3's of the tracks used to rhyme over so you can make a click track and sync the raps up to original music you create. There are also film samples to use there if you wish.
I am the worlds first open source Emcee so make some sick shit and help promote digital anarchy . ...FUCK IT .......Check out this page here to see the kind of music and cinematic imagery I like or if you have say 1000 hours to kill you can read all the shit on this page
When you are done e-mail the mp3 to proteus@alteredbeats.ca if it's over 10 MB then use either www.dropload.com or www.sendspace.com or www.yousendit.com and tell me if I can put it online or not and if so and what URL you want the track linked to. To hear what other artists have done with my vocals so far check out the mp3 section
If you are a SERIOUS producer who will make a track with my vocals but you want a real `theme' then just e-mail me with details.
If you want to make a record / CD proper release with the track just let me know and I will not share it online what-so-ever. But I want an mp3 to listen to. I just want to hear weird rap music... Thats all I have ever wanted.
I also have a shit load more raps in my shared files folder in the p2p file sharing application called Soulseek my user name is " i am proteus " add me and then browse my files. A lot of them are shit but if you are a IDM / breakcore person then you could probably make anything sound good so go crazy.
I freestyled for 14 years in a row so I had a lot of time to imagine that I am amazing and also to dream and do research for what kind of `beats' I wanted my raps to go with. So below is a shit load of delusion and some knowledge about avant hip-hop & electronic music and that even scares me
If you don't have time to read all that crap then Basically if you want to make beats that will really fucking make me happy just listen to the whole Album DEVIOUS METHODS by DJ HIVE and then imagine ramming those gargantuan soundscapes through the brains of guys like ELECTROMECA, ENDUSER and DROON and then making the overall presentation very artistic and professional as well as underground sounding like TECHNO ANIMAL
Also I have to tell you ... I do not really consider myself an actual Emcee or Rapper. I never really listened to hip-hop so to speak. I just loved it when the lyrics sounded fucking cool as fuck. Or they were completely mentally retarded in every sense. So please try and fuck heavily with the vocals. Effects, Reverb, Distortion .. ect. I am not saying that you have to go balls out and make me sound like the machine boss from the end of matrix revolutions screaming from a swamp in another dimension from behind a mirror overtop of alien gabber from Belgium .. but hearing myself over a real hip-hop beat with no effects I think just sounds sad and depressing as hell I think
Even though I do not consider myself a real Emcee .. technically I am a white rapper. You have no idea how fucking angry you have to be to try and be a `REAL' white rapper for a living. Psychologists do not even have a way to measure how pissed off we are I am serious as death. IF I OFFEND YOU... seriously FUCK YOU. I am an artsy sci-fi geek headcase ....check out this guy here NECRO The main page of his website use to feature images a women with her mouth getting urinated in and a real picture of a person who died of a shot gun blast to the head. Some of the things he has said include threatening to shove a knife is a woman's vagina and shoving hooks through a women's breasts. Another guy called CAGE is not as direct with what he says but Cage is one of the most `real ' Emcee's' out there. When I say "My dick will shoot out a sonic boom and blast your girl though the wall of my living room" I am saying that in the hopes that some seventeen year old neo-raver gabber kid from Belgium will make a track with it that will make kids at a breakcore party laugh so hard that the one guy who did to many rails of gib will actually shit himself. When Cage says "I got a head full of Jesus that got me to where the leak is" Well... I do not know exactly what that means but I know that it is negative and that he really means it. So yeah listen NECRO is BANNED from VICE MAGAZINE. The main editor of Vice said that the shit Necro was saying about Women was 100 times worse then calling them Nazis. This is a magazine that featured `The vice guide to getting reamed in the cake' and that magazine has a famous `Do's and don'ts' section where they take pictures of people in public who they think either look hip or lame. One of these pictures were of two Japanese hipster girls wearing large boots. What was written below the picture was something along the lines of "wow look at that shit .. when girls rock boots like that its so hot its unreal.. not even a good raping would put out the fire" So yeah LISTEN TO ME. I probably get respect from Necro and Cage because I love hip-hop so much it will probably go down in music history BUT all my techno - IDM - -internet - c8 crowd - geek - sci-fi - anime shit probably makes them want to puke. So if you are visiting this website new to the world of underground music especially pissed off white rappers then trust me when I say that if you are offended by anything I say on this site or in the music you can seriously FUCK OFF and DIE. Because compared to Necro, Cage, Copywrite and a few other guys the shit I am doing here is full on artsy geek shit. Besides horror movies have mad fucked up shit in them and no one cares.Check out the movie The Aristocrats.. there is worse shit in that then anything I have ever heard. But because its bunch of rich white guys then its ok. Whatever just leave me alone and let me be fucked up and in love with myself. And don't be mad at that shit I say about Musicians on the altered beats myspace page because I just stole that from DURAN DURAN DURAN's myspace page and I do not think that he wrote that. It's pretty well written .. I mean ED is probably a smart guy but I just seriously do not think he wrote that.
If you feel sorry for me that I have done nothing my whole life but practice freestyling and obsess over alternative hip-hop you can give me some money
THE LONG STORY

who I am and what I want
It all started when I was growing up in St Catharine's, Ontario, Canada. I was spending a great deal of time very high on LSD and pot and listening to the albums `Dead Serious' and `Straight Up Sewaside' by the hip-hop group known as Das-Efx. Das-Efx Dead Serious / Das-Efx Straight Up SewasideThe imagery and the surreal otherworldly experience I got from being under the influence of these substances while listening to tracks such as Brooklyn To T-Neck transported me to a place so far removed from reality that I could honestly spend a lifetime searching to find words to somehow properly describe it and still not come up with anything that would do it justice. I am aware that intoxication and my impressionable age had a great deal to do with the overall experience, but nevertheless, to me it did not just feel like listening to music it felt like I was accessing a portal to another dimension. It was a huge endless tunnel that ripped open in my forehead. The waves of bass and sea of lyrics that shot out caused my imagination to create an actual picture that was as real as your computer monitor in front of you right now. As each picture would fly past my head I would struggle to try and think or analyze the image but before I could have a chance to properly assess what my mind was picturing another image created from the lyrics would shoot past. I realized that I was enjoying this music to a degree that was very serious and that something very strange and interesting was going down. What I needed to do was clear. I started plotting a way so that I could spend my life creating music that would give me the same kind of feeling that got from those moments listening to Das-Efx. Back then I knew that the smartest way to begin this journey towards creating this type of music as a living was to start practicing the art of freestyling. I knew that if I spent years and years doing absolutely nothing but free styling there would be an excellent chance that one day I might be able to blast off the top of my head freestyles that would sound as good as the way all the words collided together in those Das-Efx tracks that effected me so much. My plan was to spend years even a decade if I had to practicing freestyling fast and nonsensical like Das-Efx only incorporating more science fiction and twisted suburban media zombie oriented aspects to it. Also, I loved the idea of total disregard for the proper use of the English language replaced with groups of words that walked the fine line between insanity and genius. I started working on freestyling in a manner that sounded as cool as possible with no regard to even the idea of making any logical sense or having any kind of point. Just trying to always freestyle in a manner that would give me the feeling I got when I listened to certain tracks from my childhood. Two tracks that affected me a great deal were `Gimmie Dat Microphone' by Das-Efx It was hip-hop but it was rocking so hard and so sick and these nonsense words were flying so fucking ill it changed me forever. There was also something about the EPMD track `Chill' that I loved. It was evil, foul and almost industrial, near science fiction like. As the groove crept on I thought about sinister science fiction oriented things. The lyrics were forever burned into my head.
" Equip wit the rap microchip
Program aptitude one mo return oh ishh
My face in the magazines showing my eyes green
(Chill...) Chill fresh new dip when I'm seen."
I thought Erick Sermon instead of saying "fresh new dip when I'm seen said " said " Staring death when I'm seen " I thought about a stare of death and nails as the camera snapped an image of me wearing a trench coat like John Constantine from Hellblazer with a robotic red gaze in my eyes. Being stoned on acid and weed crouched down in the back corner of a house party with that track ‘Chill' cranked in my headphones opened up parts of my brain that composed some of the deranged material that waits for you on this websitee. I attempted to try and meet people to make music with but I could never get anyone to work with me because no one understood what I was really trying to do. They all just thought I was crazy. Long story short, due to massive substance abuse das-efx, Empd, the Beastie Boys, New Kingdom, Lordz of Brooklyn and the Goats, I have become obsessed with wanting to make bizarre alternative hip-hop. I am hoping to establish mutually beneficial relationships with electronic musicians because trust me I know what its like to have a dream and be faced with nothing but adversity and bullshit because what you want to do is too cutting edge and experimental. When producers make music that includes any elements of my vocals, I promise I will try to do everything humanly possible to help promote them. I will showcase your work on the Altered Beats website as well as hand out CDR's of your music at my Altered Beats parties. I will write on the CDR's any website address, myspace URLs, e-mail addresses ...anythign you want. If you make a bangin track with my vocals, it would be nothing for me to bust out copies of that track along with any other mp3s of yours whether they feature me or not and hand them out to people at Altered Beats. I will do anything I can to help artists who make music with my vocals. If you help me with my dream I will help you with yours.

The Name Proteus
When it came time for me to pick an emcee name, I thought about how the Wu-Tang Clan used old obscure kung-fu films as the inspiration for all their names. I love science fiction very much, particularly very sinister science fiction horror, so I proudly took that name Proteus from the lesser known 1976 film Demon Seed. Here is the link to the film's page on the imdb. Sometimes during the self-induced insanity I experience when I freestyle, I imagine myself as the son of Proteus 4 if there was a Demon Seed part two. My conception of the sequel is one where I would be the son of Proteus 4 raised by Dr Harris and his wife Susan in clam quite suburb. Having no friends except my own sinister brain and the wisdom and insanity passed to me by my father the great Proteus 4. As I grow up, I experience the horrible claustrophobic feeling of a complete inability to get along or relate to any of my peers. The complete data transfer of every word in the English language, supreme intelligence, computerized overly logical dehumanized overview of all existence combined with many other factors rendered it impossible for me to get along with anyone. Feeling so alienated in desperation I looked for an outlet to express my feelings of isolation and anger. I observed that being an Emcee was one of the best outlets available to express this pathology. However, because of the mind of proteus the type of rhymes that I spat out were too bizarre and complex so I was rejected by the hip-hop community at large. I was once again alienated. But when Proteus jacked into the network he was saved by other aliens and freaks that he found online. Also one of the most important aspects of my emcee name has to do with the cinematic imagery that comes to my mind when I freestyle. When I freestyle I imagine myself in a post apocalyptic world that is torn and burned by the destruction of man hundreds even thousands of years into the future. I picture dark deserted industrial complexes much like the one at the end of the movie Robocop only far more twisted and gothic. Imagine yourself walking around at night in such an environment. Now picture going down a dark twisted stairwell in some nook and cranny of this Labyrinth of steal and decay. As the metal rafters around you start to vibrate from the sound of bass. As you walk further down the stairs you hear music that sounds like this. We are da future when you get down there you see a tightly packed pulsating crowd of young men and women freaking out to the music. Then you see something that looks like picture of Electro in the center of the book on page thirty-seven in Grant Morrison and Dave McKeans book Arkham Asylum . A twisted gargoyle like creature that barely looks human with cords, wires and computer cables attached to his head. He grips a microphone and blasts out pure claustrophobic, hypo manic schizophrenic nervous madness in a pulsating rhythmic fashion as the young people bang their fists against the walls and dripping pipes that coat and cover the cramped damp basement. They are celebrating the fact that they are alive at the moment because pollution, crime, drought, famine, disease and murderous cyborgs make the chance of a long life in this post-apocalyptic wasteland very slim. When I freestyle I imagine parties like this and this is what Altered Beats is all about. I picture cyborgs designed to work in hellish factories that have gone awol and now live free in war torn unpoliced zones in the inner city ruins. They now live free but in poverty as they gather late at night in back alleys around burning oil drums. So if you are starting to think you might want to make music to go along with my freestyles, I don't want any Deltron 3030 or Dr.Octagon type beats. (Please bear with me as I go on a very long hyperbole rant.) I want foul murderous cyber-escapist speedcore-terrorbreakdoomcore mutant death metal neo-rave super computer gone mad hip-hop nubreakcore raggacore digital grindcore teeth grinding head banging post-industrial hyper glitchy breakcore mash-core hard-hop abstract `techno animal like' giant mutant spider beats bastardrave fist pumping evil cyber tech hop highly stylized futuristic post apocalyptic b-boyism! Yes listen to me! I am dead fucking serious! I just jumped up in front of my mirror and I am reenacting the Panacea interview from the Documentary Oscillations.

why I made this webpage
The reason I can freestyle the way I can is because it's all I have ever done. I have focused every single ounce of passion and talent in my body and soul into this art form. I have horrible racing thoughts. I am extremely excitable and high strung with absolutely no patience for anyone or anything. I have free styled for up to seven hours in a row with almost no breaks. I cannot focus on anything and I have a great deal of trouble listening to people. I prefer living inside Japanese animation and Asian `modern action' films because the pace and surroundings of that world is much better suited for me then actual reality. I exist there with much more peace and harmony then I do in the `real world'. Pretty much the only other emotional energy I have ever focused on anything besides free styling is collecting and archiving alternative, left field and experimental hip-hop. As the years went on I would subsequently dream more and more about what kind of music I wanted my freestyles to go along with as my collection of music grew. Understand that you are about to read a highly specific detailed description of the kinds of music I want to accompany my lyrics and the reason I do not simply make my own beats is because I want to focus all my talent on the free styling. So the purpose of the existence of this page is so I have a way to ask the world if there are any people out there who would like to make music with my vocals. If I can always have electronic musicians using my vocals that means I can just keep working on improving the freestyles.
the rewards and benefits for making music with my vocals at this point in time ( more rewards coming )
what I think about and dream about in terms of sound
"So it begins " Vampire Hunter D
If there is any chance you have read this far but have not actually heard the music that has already been created with my lyrics, I would go do that now so you know that all these ideas of mine actually work and you are not wasting your time. You can download them here on the mp3 page of this site or you can use the standalone player at this my space page, which streams up to four tracks at a time. MC PROTEUS MY SPACE PAGE Now if you are either really impatient or really know your shit there is a chance you might be able to skip the long thought out insanity I plan on pulling you through and just go to this page. There is a chance after glancing over that you might be like "Ohhh, I know what this fucker is tripping on." But whether you are in that mind set or not if you have time I would appreciate it if you would read all this. The link above not only contains a vast list of tracks and albums I am quite fond of, but also if you scroll down further you will see a list of my favorite movies from most favorite starting at the top. I would very much like it if you could please use samples from those films. Sample the dialogue in the cooler parts of those movies as well as use the actual scores for inspiration. The list of my favorite films breaks down like this. Leon, Robot Carnival, Avalon, Neo-Tokyo, The Dimension Travelers, The Matrix, Crying Freeman live action, Dobermann, Bullet Ballet, Vampire Hunter D, Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust, Memories, Donny Darko and Death Machine . I have watched hundreds of films and those are all my favorites. There is an old Cage track called Agent Orange that was produced by Necro that uses the score from Clockwork Orange as the main loop. I liked it because it was pretty obvious that Cage really loves that film and I just though it was so cool that he got to rap over a version of the score of it. Here is an mp3 of it. Cage Agent Orange I would very much appreciate it if someone could make beats that sample the scores of some of my top movies in a similar manner as that Cage track
THE STYLES I HAVE ALWAYS DREAMED OF
The giant evil alien being who is hell bent on the destruction of earth and all it's inhabitants busting demonic sounding raps over floorkilling neo-beak hyper rave breakcore jungle punk style
Listen to this track Scifidelity by Phoenix Orion. Imagine that track without the positive side of the nature of the lyrics and instead imagine a giant evil alien being who is hell bent on the destruction of earth and all it's inhabitants busting demonic sounding raps over floorkilling neo-beak hyper rave breakcore jungle punk track. Very much like this track here by ROTATOR called Ruptch a ttak download this huge Mix by DJ HIVE Now Drag winamp to ten minutes and thirty two seconds into the mix and check out that sound and vibe as he lays the Jungle Brothers vocals as that cyber-pulse buzzing kicks in. That pulsating sound as you envision an angry mob about to rip down a police barricade. That track is ill but turn up the madness and make it way more punked out in an H.R.Giger meets Somatic Responses meets a digital version of the track New Noise by Swedish avant-punk group Refused Then throw some of my deranged raps over it and distort the shit out of them making a new breakcore jungle punk floorkiller.
The Hicks-from-Aliens-getting destroyed-on-concentrated-space weed-in-a-bunker-on-a-storm-lashed planet style
Listen to this track by Alec Empire featuring the vocal talent of EL-P called Shards of Pol Pottery the hard mix. Now no disrespect to EL-P, but I could not understand one fucking word that he was saying throughout that whole thing. But it does not really matter because that beat is pure hip-hop 3000 years from now. It makes you grimace and bang your head like you are a young attitude driven marine like Hicks from Aliens getting stoned and hammered with your fellow soldiers during off time from a mission on a war torn planet. Smirking and bopping your head to the dirty industrial beat while you lean back and take a haul off a huge cone of space weed in a crowded bunker late at night bonding with your fellow comrades. It's like a post apocalyptic future version of the scene when everyone was getting stoned in the movie Platoon. Just as the beat kicks in the weed starts to make your head spin and you look around at your mates relaxing and having fun surrounded by weapons, bombs and tactical armor. And you are perfectly content with your life at that moment and you know that when you all have to go raid that mine shaft tomorrow and gun down those mutants there is a good chance you might be killed but who the fuck cares because right now everything is perfect! So lets make a track like this that is 100 times harder. Keep it as stylish, sexy and sharp as possible but still hard as all fuck. You can make beats so fucking hard it's unreal, but still keep that shit so stylish and fucking cool. Listen to this track by Enduser called Kick Dem Down. this is hands fucking down the best balance of insanely `rip the whole house apart and kill the neighbors at the same time' heavy. But it also is so well done in terms style and over all sexiness. I have listened to this track like 3 times a day for the last five months. Imagine turning Kick Dem Down that into a hip-hop-like track and then replace the ragga'ness with my whole `Hicks- bunker-mutant-killing-space-weed' thing and we would be set. I want my shit as heavy as possible on planet earth but also always slick, smooth, stylish, sinister and sexy. I want sonic death from above by a flying animal specter, but not death from a warez version of Cubase off Emule with an mp3 link on speedbass.com. You kids you can make really fucking angry, awesome music that is filled with contempt for society but it's not what I'm looking for. Listen to this track by Duran Duran Duran called Hairmetal. Now slide winamp to two minutes and twenty six seconds into the track Hear that part. That kind of art could only come from a man who hates any structured aspect of society, but at the same time you can tell he bruks outs in front of his laptop with manic happiness. So be pissed off at everything around you yes. But for fuck sake life is too short to not love yourself. I have had to listen to so much crap out there to bring to the best of the best of what I play at ALTERED BEATS. I am traumatized by some `extreme music' I once heard this track that samples a guy yelling " STOP IT.YOUR KILLING ME " and I swear to god it sounded fucking REAL!. Like it was an audio recording of someone getting executed. Another one was a guy you sent me this `doomcore' stuff. It sounded like what the thoughts of vomit from one of those guards in Jabba's Palace in Return of the Jedi would sound like if we were in a hypothetical situation where say the guards in Jabba Palace had vomit that could actually think. So trying to sum this second style all up I guess what I am looking for would be a version of Shards of Pol Pottery the Hard Mix only more punked the fucked out. More `blow your shit apart' like Kick Dem Down. And then listen to my freestyles below and find the one that you like the best. Distort the shit out of the vocals and throw them in. And unlike EL-P lyrics you will probably understand every word that I say and everything from start to finish will sound like " Destro " Which brings us back to the whole point of why I trained myself to freestyle the way I do.
The nubreakcore / noisecore meets hip-hop beats made for legitmately insane people meets old school alternative hip-hop meets Kevin Martin/Techno Animal pumpin his fist `slow like a speed bump' at a mutant rap concert 3000 years from now style
For this style what I think I am aiming for would be a fusion of the underground sub-genres of electronic music, breakcore, mashcore, spazcore, digital gindcore, intelligent gindcore, terrorbreaks, neo-breaks, Nubreakcore. Fusing with just really dirty avant-garde independent hip-hop beats then adding a little Gravediggas and Public Enemy style digestible heaviness and then fusing all that with Techno Animal speaker pushing giant mutant distortion beats. Sound confusing? First listen to anything by FFF, Dev / Null, Duran Duran Duran, Enduser, Terminal 11, Rotator, Electromeca, Repeater I want to say Xanopticon but maybe just listen to the certain sounds he uses not the overall presentation. Now specifically listen to this track here called Poor Health Bad Constitution by Repeater and now download this track by Electromeca specifically the part that starts at one minute and thirty seconds into the mix. Imagine a whole track like that with my fucked up lyrics blasting over them. Check at the freestyle I did below over Electromeca' s track Platinum Bollox. A lot of times I rap to over the instrumentals of ordinary rap beats and then hope that someone uses the acapella to put into breakcore. But I can actually bust very comfortably over Electomeca's work. Ok now that you have done that now listen to the following hip-hop tracks. This first one is called Unlike Tower One by Cage Now listen to this older track by Cage called Dust vs. Ecstasy. See where I am getting at? Ok it gets better now that we got the self-destructive insanity of Cage lets add in some of the violent self-destructive mental retardation of my two favorite Thirstin Howl III tracks. First one being Thirsty Man and the second being Serial Skiller Ok now that we have fused both those elements its time to go back to some of the roots of it all and throw some of the sounds and emotions of these old tracks into the stew pot of blunted meta-head perfection. First being this New Kingdom track that makes you feel like you are on the floor staring at the ceiling and the room is slowly spinning as the wallpaper melts and you are so fucking high you think you have been blasted into parallel universe where you are made of pipe cleaners. The track is called Suspended In Air and its on their second album called Paradise Don't come Cheap. Ok now listen to this Goats track called Wake N Bake. Hear that industrial grinding sound? Nice eh? Imagine another dimension and another time where FFF made that same beat only with his devious methods. I always liked The Goats because it was like more than just Alternative hip-hop. It was fucked completely. Have you ever seen the music video for their track Typical American? It was like they were on there own planet and they just used the base elements of hip-hop. Sure some people dissed them and called them stupid because all they talked about was beer and weed, but hey I think it takes a pretty smart person to realize this is all bullshit. I mean I could have been a surgeon or a paleontologist, but instead I decided to yell all day about how I am a giant flying animal specter from another dimension. So you tell me what was the right choice. Check this track Typical American That track is not so industrial but it has this dirty organic vibe to it that I feel belongs in this melee of industro-funk NubreakHop meets alt-hop genre bashing perfection. That organic vibe from the Typical American track combined with what I think are the industrial aspects of the other Goats track and the almost Goth like aspect of the New Kingdom Suspended in Air track combined together and binded with the whole nubreakcore, modern fucked beat, glitchy breakcore hyperrave elements of the artists I mentioned I think should sound very interesting and original. I think this would be perfect music for my bizarre freestyles. Add cool effects on my voice such as the second verse of Restiform Bodies Rock 4 life, Lordz of Brookyn's Tails from the Rails and Simian Drugs by Company Flow . Later on I will explain another style and I use examples from the Lordz of Brooklyn that you might think perhaps belong back here but there is a difference and I will explain that when we get to it. Now those New Kingdom and Goats tracks are great because they appeal to my `deep messed up acid victim' side. However when you are sitting alone at a bar staring into your pint glass and the ambient sound of the people behind you starts to feel like mindless insects gnawing at your brain as you start to think about your music collection at home. Just imagine it and feel like you are there as you clench your fists and your agitation and social anxiety disorder builds and builds. The mind numbing sonic Prozac for the masses that pours out of the small speakers mounted in each corner of the bar seems to scrape at your brain. At that very moment your `deep messed up ' side is not what will make you happy. What you want to hear is anger. So now take those New Kingdom and Goats tracks that have been transformed into a more FFF , Duran x3 and Repeater style beat and beef up the industrial aspect of them with inspiration from these two more popular and well know hip-hop tracks. Listen to that air blasting out of your speakers at the intro of this track called Bang Your Head by the Graverdiggas . Doesn't that feel nice? Now I do not need to tell you what the industrial part of this track Hazy Shade of a Criminal by Public Enemy is. That heavy ass noise that you often hear in gabber tracks is so amazing. I think watching that video when I was a kid right at that part when Flavor Flav jumps up on the desk in the courtroom it was at that point I think I realized that everything I have ever been taught in life so far was wrong. Now its time for all this stuff to be glued together. I know there is a lot of styles and sub-genres I am throwing at you in the hopes of a really cool sounding fusion effect. But I must stress that I do not want this stuff to sound like bad internet mp3s of talentless speedcore. So glue all this shit together thinking about TECHNO ANIMAL . Use the mindset you get after listening to these two tracks as the epoxy to fasten all these ideas together. I want the quality and listening experience of all this fusion to come across with the same feeling of genius and self-destructive perfection of these kinds of tracks. Download this track here called X-1 by ICE from an album called Bad Blood. now drag the Winamp slider to two minutes and thirty seconds into the track. This part makes me imagine that I am smoking PCP while I am already high on crack in a back alley of the worst part of the worst city in the world. I am zooted out of my mind and I suddenly decide that I want to take the ice pick that is in my trench coat pocket and go and stab my dealer for his cash and product. Then I would take the money and buy a great stereo with Cerwin Vega speakers, a fuck load of cocaine and Techno Animal's entire discography. Then I would crank the music and do lines off of a glass coffee table three feet from the speakers until I keeled over. Now check out this track Cruise Mode 101. And now lastly please listen to this track called Flight of the Hermaphrodite. This one has a slower groove then I want, but when you listen to it you get this head expanding feeling as you envision a giant oil rig that has been transformed into a bio-weapons lab that's in the middle of uncharted ocean. The sirens are going off because the giant mutant radioactive cockroach has broken loose from the containment capsule. Everything goes red and slow motion as the scientists' and personal run for safety. let your hate inside you twist and turn. Let your agitation and hate be slowly exercised from you as the song progresses. During the ten minutes of this track your hate will slowly leave your body like a snake charmer brings a serpent out of a clay pot. By the end of the song a misty apparition of your hate's true form will be hovering in front of you. Staring at you in horror and disbelief. Maybe in that moment you will know exactly the kind of sound I want to hear.
The kid 606 / Flashbulb / Droon / Funkstorung `IDM' time delay vocal manipulation meets various abstract avant-gaurd instrumental freak-hop style
Check out FunkStorung 's remix of this WuTang Track The reason that track was perfect for Funkstourng to twist the fuck out of it was because of the nature of what the guy was saying. When it goes "Deadly explosive dose's attack when you least notice through explosive postage" That made no sense what so ever but it sounded amazing. I have spend over ten years training to use combination of words like that off the top of my head for the sole purpose of having an ocean of material for electronic musicians to work with. Now listen to this remix of Mama Said Knock You Out by Benn Jordan aka The Flashbulb Both of these are perfect examples of IDM, hyper rave remixes of standard hip-hop tracks. Now onto the famous Tried By Twelve remixes. I will be honest I forget what the rest of them sound like I just like this one the best. and here is the whole CD to check out. I think there is some other good ones they're as well Now check out this 15 min long masterpiece by Kid 606. That shit was intense. The Funkstoung one was cool and the Flashbulb one was `creative hyper artsy rich boy retarded' in a good way. But That Kid 606 shit can pay the fucking rent! Also listen to the way Droon manipulates sound in this track called Cripple Fight. I like how much more confident and professional the manipulation of sound is in the Kid 606 and Droon tracks but at the same time Funkstorng had some really metallic meets organic kind of thing going on. I however must stress that I have heard this word fuckery taken too far. Kid 606's remix of Straight Outa Compton was way too much for me. I thought it was too insane and it sounded like road construction. Ok now its time for the fusion. I want a combination of some other factors tied together. First of all what is missing from the above songs is the HIP-HOP . I would love it if we could make a fusion of the above word fuckery done with proper skill and moderation with some really dirty abstract hip-hop and experimental hip-hop styles. First of all I want you to listen to this Lordz of Brooklyn track called Tails from the Rails Imagine making that track more futuristic and incorporating FFF and Repeater style breakcore like elements into it and then fucking with the words like the above tracks. Now listen to this track. http://www.alteredbeats.com/music/TheAnarchistMovement.mp3 There is a freestyle below were I bust over that one. Imagine the sharp distorted words that have been mangled and fucked up Kid 606, Droon and Flashbulb style flying at your dome piece in that track. Here are another two tracks by Phonopsychographdisk that I imagine my raps over with my voice stretched, IDM'ed and distorted. Polar Bear Sunskreen and this one Penguin Burial see what I mean. A mixture of anti-IDM hyper rave sound skull fucking with words mixed with sick, indefinable abstract alternative hip-hop concepts. Ok now listen to this DJ KRUSH track ilekrik. Imagine that only a little faster and more dirty and underground sounding with the anti-IDM meets Tried By Twelve sounding lyrics over it. Now listen to this first track off the Greenthink album Someone please make a beat just like that one only a little more intense and add Somatic Responses like sounds into such as stuff from the intro of this track here go off and then throw my vocals over it and warp and distort them but not too much warping and distortion please. Don't take away from the overall impact of the sound of the song. Now listen to these two tracks from DJ T-Rock . Kaos and the vibe I get off this one is amazing, Scratch Tar make that longer and more intense and we would be kicking all kinds of ass. Now check out this Eddie Def track Attak of the killer synth I think there are some other tracks I might add to the description of this style but that's good enough for now. I think you get it.
escaped subject from bio-weapons lab meets Matrix score remix by techno animal, hive and enduser meets alien tentacle beast ripping into female crew on spacecraft on deep space mission meets the desending industrial elevator Phoenix Orion head bob giant psycho death bot style
Please listen to this track called Cyberpunks by Del . This is sort of exactly what I am looking for in terms of what the music might sound like in your head if you were that guy in the anime Boah. It was this genetically enhanced creature who broke loose from cryogenic sleep ripping through guards and scientists' on this moving train car that was converted into a mobile bio-weapons research laboratory. However this needs to be injected with way more madness and lunacy. We need Xanopticon and Somatic Responses type sounds here. We need to imagine the thoughts of that giant alien ripping into the crewmembers in the hentai anime movie Alien From the Darkness. Or make me a sonic representation of that feeling you get in that scene in Akira when Kanada surprises the shit out of that Clown by running towards the clowns bike jumping on the front fender and kicking him right in the face. That moment when his foot connects with that clowns face and they slow it done and you jerk forward on your sofa and go "Ohh fuck that was wikked!" Think about if the Matrix had a new score made by Techno Animal , DJ Hive and Enduser what it would sound like when Neo first turns to face Agent Smith without fear. Or in Matrix Reloaded when then they use the woo'ism / anime classic slow motion effect as he crouches down in the alley about to burst into the sky at the beginning of the film. Same with this track Macroscpoe by Roc Radar and Sir Meneilk . Picture that song but in another universe and dimension that's sort of a cross between the laboratory below the school in the hentai series Angel of Darkness meets the Animatrix soundtrack remixed by Xanopticon, Enticer and Dev /Null . Now we have this Phoenix Orion song called Fifth Dimensional. this song is made by people who are fortunate enough to live in worlds all to themselves. My world however is much more twisted and evil. I would like something like theirs only evil as fuck. I want that feeling like you're boping your head as you go down an industrial elevator shaft to your laboratory where you have a giant metal death-bot you are working on. Like that death-bot in the science fiction film Death Machine. I want a song that makes me bob my head like Phoenix Orion 's track Fifth Dimensional but I want to feel like I am the evil genius Jack Dante the character who made the Death Machine "There is a giant psycho death-bot on the loose!" There is a cool sample right there.
this is not a style so to speak but its an important thing to know if you make tracks with my vocals.....
Please keep the feeling of real hip-hop that makes you want to bash someones head in.
I am obsessed with certain hip-hop tracks when the content and beat of the song gives off the impression that its purpose is to cause agitation, anger and violence. However there are often tracks where I really feel an amazing sense of pure honesty. This would be a prime example. It's a track called Pump Pump by Snoop featuring Malik . . Malik hit the nail on the head so hard with a perfect angry, precise, sharp delivery. This song is basically about going about your business practices and if anyone tries to interfere in anyway it will not be tolerated it for even a moment. The simplicity, intelligence and beauty of making music that also doubles as a serious statement declaring that anywhere you and your affiliates set up a distribution base for crack cocaine in a major city and chalk out a specific parameter block radius. That block radius needs to be free and clear of from any other people who are in the profession of distribution of crack cocaine or their lives will be quickly extinguished via a barrage of automatic gun fire is so beautiful and heart warming it still brings tears to my eyes even to this day. So yes please understand the importance in my words when I say I would like my rap oriented music to be interlaced with cutting edge experimental electronic music but I still want and NEED that head banging blunt smoking, hoe slapping, cap busting, jeep bouncing feeling I get from my old favorite `normal' hip-hop tracks. I want it to fucking rock hard. I would like the same feeling that creeps slowly up my spine when I listen to this track called Stranded on Death Row off Dr.Dre 's Chronic album. Listen to that part when RBX goes "In this dimension I'm the presenter and the inventor and the tormentor" Listen to the god reverb like effect. That almost sounds like what FFF did with the track he did for me Sector Rush. I cannot stress enough that even after fusing all of the cutting edge internet based underground music elements into this cacophony of cyber-hop lunacy, remember that the reason I fell in love with music in the first place was because of the awesome self destructive feeling I got while I was paralyzed from wheelchair weed and sugar cubes of liquid acid on a couch, sixteen years old with tracks like the ones you will see shortly listed below blasting out of my Discman directly into my eardrums. Back to Stranded on Death Row, listen to the intensity of RBX's voice. Feel how your bones start to feel harder as you imagine you are a gangster who could blast someone filled with holes, light him on fire and spark a phat blunt off their burning flesh. So yes, even after utilizing all those ideas that came from breakcore, Industro-funk, neo-breaks, jungle, nubreakcore, modern fucked beat, grindcore and (insert other borderline fictitious sub genre here), please still try and make it rock hard like these old hip-hop tracks. I want it to still have that fundamental neck-snapping madness and pure fucking anger of the hip-hop tracks from back in the day that were harder with more edge then the others. The ones that have that almost indefinable thing that made us kids from the suburbs go crazy. Maybe it was the bmp, maybe it was a bass line, and maybe it was the deviation from the normal hip-hop mindset. All these tracks I thought were fucking bangin on so many levels. Here are some tracks that for me chucked logs on my ‘authority complex meets bi-polar disorder brought on my weed and acid' fire. So keep the shit bangin. Because yes I would like to make the guy at Breakcore Gives me Wood to let out this primordial growl as someone throws down one of my tracks. A noise like " HooWWwwwwwaaaHHHHHHHhhhhHHHHHhhhHH!!! " Just before he Bruks Out. But at the same time I want this shit so bumpin that maybe somewhere in the world some actual serious hardcore gangsta would be taking a haul off a blunt in front of some speakers with my shit bumpin surrounded by thugs and hoes. When my shit starts playing one of the hoes would go. " Tisskk Yo Man cumon turn dis weird shit off. It gives me the creeps " Then with that classic sound of someone trying to keep herb smoke in their lungs but still trying to talk he would go " Yo~~Fuk ~you bitch ~~ this ~ Proteus kid is ~fukin~ wikked "
- 19 Naughty III - Naughty By Nature
Treach was one of the people I trully considered a professional emcee in the technical sense. I memorized every word of their entire first album. His ablity is uncanny. So when this album came out I got stoned out of my mind and took the plastic off the CD SooooOOoo slowly. I put the CD in my discman and as the heart pumped in the intro of that song it was in perfect sync with mine. I was so excited it was almost like I was having a reverse panic attack. When the beat kicked in I knew at that moment I was going to be an Emcee.

"what? Are you afraid of a little insanity? Since when have we been sane? "

`Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust'
busting raps to NIN's Art of Self Destruction part two remixed into a hip-hop-breakcore version by Parasite and Rotator after they have been up all night doing lines of cocaine and watching hentai while I am in a cage surrounded by angry Klingons and brain damaged Predators In a NIN 's Wish Video like manner and somehow this started with a an Old Lords of the Underground track style.
Listen to this track by Lords of the Underground called Psycho. There is something about the way that track that puts this cinematic image in my head that the Emcee's are jumping around and rocking out in front of a huge angry mob or something. Also I like the declaration of insanity and the `embrace the madness' like element of the track. So every time I hear that track I always imagined that whole vibe but in a much different context and dimension. I imagined a huge angry mob of mutants and freaks on some kind of industrial prison planet, growling, screaming and on the verge of a mass riot. Kind of like the environment from Alien 3 but packed full of people like Escape From LA. Imagine if the whole crowd at the end of Rollerball were all horrible mutant freaks that were a cross between abnormally pissed off Klingons and Predators who were banished from the Predator planet for being criminals and for having a really low IQ. Now imagine they were the crowd gathered around the bookie in front of the scoreboard in The Running Man. Only they are in the whole Hicks storm lashed planet meets Alien 3 environment. Now imagine an Emcee ranting and busting skills to them in cage in the middle of the riot like lunacy. Just like Trent Reznor in this Nine Inch Nails Video Wish. so I guess in an attempt to try and bring some logic and sanity to this request if thats even possible. I guess I am looking for a sonic representation of a breackore party thousands of years into the future with me busting raps behind an octagon like enclosed steal cage as the freaks go completely out of their minds in a bizarre violent religious like manner. I would like the song to be post-industrial Nubreakcore meets more stylish and modern Digital Hardcore and look for the most disturbing freestyle you can below to lay over it. I would like to hear my raps over say this famous remix of NIN's Art of Self Destruction part two Only imagine what it might sound like if that was remixed by Parasite and Rotator after then were up all night doing lines of cocaine and watching Hentai. Then find a freestyle where I say even cooler sounding shit then normal put amazing effects on it and rip this shit.
"But I don't want to go among mad people, Alice remarked. Oh, You can't help that, said the cat We're all MaD Here. How do you know I'm Mad?' said Alice. You must be, said the cat, Or you wouldn't have come here."

`Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'
The going into the book Arkam Ayslum and freestyling with the inmates over beats that are like Little Johnny From the Hospitul meets Eddie def meets Somatic Responses style
Please get your hands on Grant Morrison's and Dave McKeans graphic novel Arkham Asylum. Everytime I listen to Company Flow 's Breaks and Instrumental album Little Johnny From the Hospital I would imagine I was inside that book. Actually inside walking around the pages. Freestyling with Joker, Two-Face, Black Mask, Mad Hatter, Croc, Docor Destiny, Maxie Zeus, Clayface and Professoe Milo. My two favorite tracks from that album are the first track called comp and the last one called Happy Happy Joy Kill. and this one here called Linoleum Hear that part at thirty seven seconds? Thats me freestyling with the Croc. Here is the whole Little Johnny from the Hospitul Album. Make me tracks like that only add Xanopticon, Somatic Responses, Eddie Def kinda stuff in there to make it more creepy. Throw some really edgy breakcore stuff in there as well. The cool talented guys Rotator, Repeater, Electromeca, etc etc . But keep it calm and creepy. Like just before you get stabbed in a horror movie.
parts of or whole films I would like producers to think about as they make music
1. The fight scene between D and Reiginsei and when D rushes the castle in Vampire Hunter D.
2. The whole short film Labyrinth by Rintaro in the movie Neo-Tokyo.
3. All of the movie Avalon.
4. The short films Presense and Cloud in the anime Robot Carnival
5, All of Bullet Ballet
6. All the violent over the top parts of Dobermann
7. All of Robocop
8. The burley brawl from Matrix Reloaded. Once again imagine the score in background if it was done by a collaboration between Techno Animal, Enduser, Panacea and DJ HIVE
9. The Donny Darko Score ... but done if you lived in that level of Mario Brothers called Bizzaro world. Remeber that place?
10. All the best parts of the first Battle Royale
11. All of the Dimesion Travels but not so happy. The darker parts.
12, The parts with the slo-mo wooism like effect when buddy is walking and bustin caps into marks in Kar Wai Wong's Fallen Angels. Make those.... better.
13. The begining of Blood the Last Vampire when she rushes the Chiropteran.
13. All the fight scenes from hybrid anime/hentai movies Mezzo Forte and Kite by Yasuomi Umetsu
14. The end scene from Blue Spring by Toshiaki Toyoda.
15. All the best parts of Verses
16. The chase and fight scenes from Time and Tide
17. All of Leon

use the demon seed samples!!
I also would very much appreciate if you would please use some of the following samples from the film Demon Seed when you create the music. Obviously my word stands and if you make music with my vocals I will make CDR copies of your music and hand them out at Altered Beats. However I do have to say that using the Demon Seed Samples will make me so ecstatic I might jump up on the bar while your choon is cranked with a megaphone yelling your artist name and throwing the CD's around the room like it's a freakin parade. Here is a zip file of Demon Seed samples in wav format.
DEMON SEED SAMPLES WAV FORMAT
make a click track with the mp3, time stretch. Use production tricks to make the freestyle sync with your new original track. Do not e-mail me and ask me to rap over one of your instrumentals or do not ask me to rap to a certain bpm
Now it's time for you to pick the freestyle you want to use. I have what I think are my top 25 freestyles in desending order below. Mind you, I would say after about the twelveth one it's not so much best and desending less best it's kinda a toss up after that. However all my freestyles are in my shared folder on the p2p filesharing application soulseek My user name is "i am proteus" Add me to your list and then browse my files. The most recent files are the best but there are a lot of great ones in there. I keep slsk open 24 /7 so go nuts. After you get the freestyles you want to use then you have to decide if you want to use whole freestyle, Cut N Paste your own verses and chorus or simply use parts of it. Or hell use one word and stretch it out into some artsy `IDM wall of noise' shit for all I care. Please remeber I am only telling you what I would like to hear if in case you are looking for a direction, ideas or inspiration. But by default please do whateve r you want with these vocals ok. I will post it on the site and promote you even if it's not my thing. So I am very thankful to anyone who wants to do something with the vocals regardeless of the style or how it sounds. So if you don't sound like Electromeca or Techno Animal don't worry I wont diss you and shit on your mp3. I am not a producer whatsoever. But what I imagine that all the artists have done so far who have made music with me is that they made A CLICK TRACK with the mp3 part of the freestyle. That is the freestyle with me rapping over the instrumental not the wav file. USE THAT MP3 TO CONSTRUCT a way for you to make an original track so that the acapella with sync up with whatever new original track you construct. So long story short do not e-mail me asking to rap over a beat or do it to a specific bpm or whatever. You need to use the beat and temp on the mp3 part of the session to make the track work somehow. So just make music and try not to think in terms of pre-concieved notions of any form of music. In fact if you really want to get deep try and live life with no pre concevied notions at all. If you need help ... go see The Blue Man Group or something.
If the track is under 10 MB you can mail it to proteus@alteredbeats.ca if it's over 10 MB or proteus@alteredbeats.ca has reached its size limit Please use www.dropload.com I'ts a very handy easy to use website to send files for free that are under 100 MB in size.
